Connecting your phone number

Turnless gives you a dedicated phone number. You can use it directly or forward calls from your existing number.

Your Turnless number

During setup, Turnless assigns you a local phone number. You can share this number with customers, add it to your website, or use it as your primary business line.

Forwarding from your existing number

Most businesses prefer to keep their existing number and forward calls to Turnless. Contact your phone provider and ask them to set up conditional call forwarding — this routes calls to your Turnless number when you're busy or don't answer. Most providers can do this in under 5 minutes.

Conditional vs unconditional forwarding

Conditional forwarding only sends calls to Turnless when you don't answer or when your line is busy. Unconditional forwarding sends all calls directly to Turnless. Most businesses use conditional forwarding so they can still answer calls themselves when available.

Testing your setup

Once forwarding is configured, call your business number from a mobile and let it ring through. Your AI receptionist should answer. You can also use the Test Voice feature in your dashboard to test the AI directly from your browser.
